How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
First I loved being outdoors, and I loved the California landscape. The abrupt changes that were being imposed on the land after home building disturbed me. I wanted to bring the land back into harmony with itself so homeowners could enjoy their gardens without disturbing the surrounding ecosystems.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
The owners have all traveled extensively throughout the world and bring their experiences of world landscapes to their customers. While maintaining a "sense of place" and connection to the native landscape, they incorporate historical principles and methods into the present.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We are located in the north bay and serve Sonoma, Marin and Napa counties.
